Alia Ali (b. 1985) is a Yemeni-Bosnian-American artist born in Austria whose work spans photography, textiles, sculpture, and installation.

Shaped by her Yemeni heritage and an upbringing across languages and cultures, Ali approaches textiles as a form of communication. Her practice involves research and collaboration with Indigenous communities, exploring how knowledge and cultural memory are carried through materials, patterns, and the hands that make them.

Through this approach, Ali examines histories of migration and colonisation, and the relationship between identity and power. Her work considers textile traditions as living practices through which communities preserve their histories and imagine their futures.
