Dan Estabrook (b. 1969) is an American artist from Boston whose work brings together photography, drawing, painting, and sculpture.

Working with photographic processes from the nineteenth century, Estabrook creates images by hand, then alters them with pencil, paint, and physical interventions. Rather than working with found photographs, he makes his own, giving newly created images the appearance of objects with a past. These processes allow him to work with the photograph as both an image and a physical object.

Through this approach, Estabrook introduces personal symbols and stories into seemingly anonymous photographs. His work explores memory, loss, and transformation, questioning how we interpret the past through the images that remain.
