Icons of Photography

House of Photography presents what we define as the 100 most iconic and influential photographs ever created.

Over the next decade, Icons of Photography will unfold one photograph at a time. Each new presentation replaces the previous one, inviting visitors to discover another iconic image and the story behind it.

At a time when photographs are often viewed in an instant, Icons of Photography returns the focus to the individual photograph. Every image is given the space to be experienced on its own and understood in a broader historical and cultural context.

Presented without chronological or hierarchical order, each photograph stands on its own while contributing to a larger story of photography.
